SANTA ANA – Pete Hardin, candidate for Orange County District Attorney, released the following statement in response to the anti-Asian statements directed at Supervisor Andrew Do at Tuesday’s Orange County Board of Supervisors meeting.
“I am deeply disturbed by and strongly condemn the openly racist and hateful anti-Asian language with which Supervisor Do was attacked at this week’s Orange County Board of Supervisors meeting. This kind of abhorrent rhetoric is antithetical to Orange County values and degrades public discourse.
“Hate should have no place in our community, and yet Todd Spitzer stood by for over a year as horrifying hate crime in our community rose over 1,200%. Orange County demands leaders, not showmen, who will undertake the hard work of coordinating across all county stakeholders and across party lines to root out hate.”
