Spitzer Promoted Friends To Senior Positions Despite Knowing About Pervasive Sexual Harassment Including Harassment of a 16 Year-Old Intern, Spitzer Retaliated Against Victims of Sexual Harassment, and Spitzer Attempted To Drop Sexual Assault Charges Against Two Individuals With Financial Campaign Ties While Doxxing a Victim of the Alleged Sexual Assault
ORANGE COUNTY – Today, combat veteran and former Marine Judge Advocate, Deputy District Attorney, and Special Assistant United States Attorney Pete Hardin joined the Orange County Democratic Party in calling on the Orange County Office of Independent Review (OIR) to launch an independent investigation into the pattern of sexual harassment that has occurred under District Attorney Todd Spitzer.
“The gatekeeper of Orange County’s criminal justice system has closed the door to justice for the women in his office. This is a DA who pretends to be concerned for women, and yet he has repeatedly shrugged off pleas and allegations of #MeToo from the women who directly work for him. Instead of believing these courageous women and taking action, he promoted their abuser. He has failed to protect them from a repeat abuser, just as he has failed to protect the people of Orange County. The Orange County Office of Independent Review (OIR) must act.”
Hardin’s campaign also launched its first ad today. The ad, entitled “Spitzer’s Scandals,” covers the monsoon of scandals facing the embattled District Attorney. The ad references myriad allegations including corruption and crime
